The guy on the right is Graham, who took 2 years to rebuild this 135. The other love of his life (apart from his dog Alfie) is minis, which is just as well since he's working on Huey tomorrow.
Graham says he got the MF hat first and waited a long time to get a tractor to go with it.
Nice thread for an old codger like me who remembers threshing machines in the fields ... but we won't go there :)

Haha fantastic I'm glad you are enjoying it!
That is the most beautiful 135 I've ever seen! have you got anymore photos of this beast?

The one that burnt out I'm hoping to bring up to a very good standard, but we shall have to see if the farm coffers allow for it!

That's the only other one I took. My neighbour Trevor is in the way a bit but you can see a little more detail.
The exhaust stack white paint is bubbling at the base from when Graham gave it some welly going up a hill after the last show.
Guess he forgot he wasn't driving a mini :)

Downdraft exhausts arent particularily common. Any reason for it? Only other Massey ive seen with one is my own TE20.

Yup, all the Lenfield conversion Masseys have them, as well as narrowing the rear axle, and ensuring the front has the swept axle. The exhaust was re-routed to run below the tractors, as the conversion was designed to make them more effective in hop gardens, the top exit exhaust would always get caught up with the netting\ hop bines so has to be moved round!

It's reasonably common modification where I'am in Kent, but saying that most of the county used to be a hop garden...no more though :D

Nice 135's :- My dad's just putting the finishing touches to one at the moment. We never had anything that modern about when I was at home, I had a few TE's before I was old enough to drive, sold my TEF to buy my first mini (many years ago!) ;D Had a David Brown 990 as well, obviously was a lot bigger which was all to apparent when I drove into the shed and knocked the exhaust clean off!
Whats happening with the burnt out one?

All that stuff has been added, as it melted most of the stuff, I'm slowly building her back up..she turns over and has good oil pressure, so going to fire her up soon!!! hopefully have her back in action over xmas or for next picking season!

I'm trying to find the pictures of what she looked like, just after the fire.

Well it is indeed a pig feed bag but it actually has rolled barley and mollassed sugar beet in it with added nutrient powder. A really dry mix but all the livestock goes mental for it!
