Me.

And me, only stopped my subscription earlier this year. Cannot see the point in the BMW Mini articles and do not like the direction the editor is taking it.

I know what you mean. My finger is poised over the 'Quit' button.

To be honest I’d advise strongly against getting a feature.. you’ll only end up with damage on the car from jealousy etc etc

Maybe in years gone by when car magazines had a huge reach, but now? The scenario you suggest seems very unlikely.

On magazines in general, we’ve been in Mini Mag a few times both with the club and with our old workshop crowd. Our IOW event got a nice 3-page article this month 👍

I believe MiniWorld are coming to do a feature on my two Cooper rally cars and my Grandsons Mayfair - Cooper Tribute 1060 cc cars shortly.

My car was in the your minis section, was also asked about getting featured. Nice one, let me get a few jobs done to finish it. A year later still not done the jobs and probably blown my chance lol

to be honest it’s no where what it was 5-10 years ago, grew up my first 20 years with Minimag, remember my first copy in 97 aged 4 haha.

Ive had a 7 page feature 10 years ago, was an immense feeling when minimag had Jeff Ruggles, Stephen Colbran at the helm.

Unsubscribed shortly after they left, the now fiancé got me a subscription for my birthday this year, one issue in she got a refund, seriously lacking and to be honest it needs a shake up before it’s gone forever.

Far better mini content on youtube and the specialist facebook pages (not the general how much is it worth pages)

That’s very true, the scene is very small compared to years gone by.. shows are getting a bit boring now too
Rows and rows of the same stuff we’ve all seen before and lots of the same thing in different colours
Shame

People are still pretty quick to pull others cars apart online and attack people personally when the green monster sets in after features.
Seen it happen to a few recently but if you don’t give a to@@ then have at it but then I’d have to ask why you’d want a feature in the first place if you don’t really care what people think?

I’ve had a few mags approach me in recent years (non mini related) and turned them down as I enjoy the cars and don’t need anyones aproval

perhaps it's more to do with having a certain amount of pride and satisfaction in what you've achieved rather than what anyone else thinks of it

I was featured way back in 2000 in MW, went to many many shows back then, never had a problem with damage to my car ever. I still attend shows now, never seen anyone damaging a car, I guess times have changed.

Just enjoy it, it’s a car and a fun one at that.
It’s a very nice mini!

Just adding that I wasn't looking for anyone's approval as such but obviously happy to receive compliments (isn't everyone?)

I'm happy with what I did given my lack of skill/training/facilities; I know its not concourse and its a bit of an oddball which might divide opinion being a kit car also not a "pure" mini.

I was encouraged by the chap in our club who was impressed with what I had achieved and he thought it was interesting.  I did put it on here in the projects section for the REAL approval ....... :D
