jesus...those mini's look nice.

i take it these cars are 100% immaculate? Maybe im potentially stepping up to something that my car is not quite ready for lol

Thanks for that link mate!

gotta admit, mine isn't immaculate, as most of our minis on here, an ongoing project. still got things to do as always, but it looks good mostly lol, which i assume is why they featured it. (minimagazine may this year, had the yellow clubby cossie in the same mag, mines page 66)

Never had mine featured as the engine bay is not painted and the interior is crap but I have had it on the show reports pages before and things like that. To get in the Mag what they tell you is they want a car that does not require any creative photography i.e.pictures taken at angles to avoid unfinished areas.

To get front cover you need to be like mary popins... practically perfect in every way.

I didnt realise a few people on here had been lucky enough to get their cars featured.

I took some pictures tonight and had a play with Photoshop. I dont know whether these will be the exact ones i e-mail to the magazine, but just thought id make a start and hopefully get quite a few pictures and pick the best ones!

This is what im hoping to get featured...

Im glad you share my enthusiasm for white mini's lolol.

thankyou

Engine is a standard 1275cc Metro with minisport inlet and maniflow lcb and an RC40 back box.

Started life as an automatic.

Ive fitted spax dampers, hi lo's, new donuts, rear subframe, poly bushes...etc the usual stuff.

grp 6 arches with 13 x 7 deepdish wheels.

Ive done a hell of a lot to the car, but havent gone down the performance route but rather taken the route of using stainless steel parts where possible to minimise corrosion and doing a lot of preventative maintenance to (hopefully) make it a bit more reliable.

I just like tidy mini's with a touch of a 'sporty' side. I think most of the car has been replaced since when it was bought (apart from the shell).

I think my next project will be much more in depth.

My Mini was in last June's edition of Miniworld. I was showing the car at the Mini Cooper day at Beaulieu and someone from the magazine approached me and asked if they could do an article on it. They sent me a copy of the article prior to the magazine going to print but I didn't know it was going to be on the cover until it came out. That was a very nice surprise

I had never really thought about getting in a magazine but I was encouraged by a member of our club to write in which I did along with some pictures. The cars featured always look immaculate and although I was really happy with the level I had reached on my car I wasn't sure it would be good enough.

I got featured in the "Your minis" section of Mini Mag which was enough for me as there must be plenty of top notch cars that haven't been lucky enough to be featured in a magazine at all, (maybe they don't want to but I know I'd like to see some of them featured)

However, at the same time the editor asked if he could do a full feature on the car which I was still a bit concerned as to the standard, but he said he thought it looked good enough. I guess once he got the professional pictures that is kind of the make or break and if it wasn't good enough I would have got the "Sorry..." letter

My (kit) car probably caught a break being vaguely interesting (?) and/or different so maybe it didn't have to be quite as good as some of the cars that get in the mag. Also the professional pics did make it look quite good.

Just my experience how it happened for me

To be honest I’d advise strongly against getting a feature.. you’ll only end up with damage on the car from jealousy etc etc
