Hey,

Im just curious as to how (if anone on here) managed to get their mini featured in magazines such as MiniWorld and Mini Magazine?

I was tempted to send MiniWorld some pictures of my mini and a description of its journey from when i bought it to how it looks now.

Any dieas?

sounds like a good starting plan tbf, anything is worth a show for a bit of publicity now and again

a friend's car was the cover star in mini mag a couple of issues ago (the scalextrix one). He's got 2 other cars, both of which I prefer, but the mag wasn't remotely interested in them because although they're gorgeous, they're not unique enough. So at least for mini mag, having a fab car isn't enough, it's got to be very different from the crowd. although maybe having a great story to go with it would be enough.

dunno about mini world though.

If you want a feature you need to email them with some pictures of your mini now and what is good about it engine, body etc also enter club stands and show n shine to stand out at a show then you can talk to the mags at show and ask them to come and have a look. I emailed them both and had interest from both then the next show I was at asked the mags to have a look at my mini they both said yes so then I needed to decide who I wanted to do the feature and I went with Mini Mag.

mini mag do like there share of fast engines but the more race modded minis and such do seem to be favoured by mini world a bit.

my car was minimagazine featured may this year, just email them and ask them, they can only say yes or no. Mark Robinson from minimagazine is the person to contact.

That's exactly what I did with MiniWorld. They were excellent. Got my Minis in the July edition and even managed a "We love it". :)

Go for it!

You need a very special little car :)

Editors like shiny things, like magpies, so you also need a lot of elbow grease and a vat of polish... start doing the shows, never shut up about your Mini and make sure you talk to the mag guys whenever they're around on here or lurking at the shows. You could also ask the Ghost of Issigonis to pull a few strings for you from the great beyond. :xxx:

Ah yes... and get yourself known. *Grins*
