do you know why people dont run the lines inside the car? mainly the fuel one in particular, there has been recent discussion about this, but if you are in an accident and the fuel line gets damaged, you now have fuel pouring inside the car where you and passengers coud be trapped/unconscious.
so one source of a spark and your toast. run everything except the fuel line in the car.

Is the door fully latched (double click) if so trying adjusting the catch on the door frame, loosen the screws and try and move the catch into the car. You may find that there is a putty like seal under the catch so you will need to make sure this is not preventing you from adjusting it.

What are your gaps like front and back are they even, if not you can put shims under the hinge to move the door rewards if required.

Gapping doors is a pain in the backside and i have had to add metal to the door edges to get even gaps. I will also be adding a section to the window frame as well to straighten it up and raise it as well.

hi nick don't just painted the engine like you would with a car first a good clean down and the primered in zinc primer to try and kill the rust and then the top coat a nice a thick coat of orange mango. thanks for the comment and the bell housing is just wire brushed down and then brush painted with silver havvetite and a soft brush to reduce the brush stokes.

hi the door is double latched and the gaps around the door are ok it was just the back corner of the door was sticking out past the rear wing but noe i think i have cured the problem i have managed to bend the door so now fits ok (the only heratige pannel i have fitted to the car is the passanger side door skin and it has gave me the most headackes in the entire rebuild up to now.)

hi do you have a link to this discussion because i will have a read through and then decide if i will run only the brake pipe in side the car thanks Liam

any way have been in the garage again and i think i have now got the passenger to to fit apart from it rubbing on a panel lip that sticks out a little will have to grind it down tommorow could you please tell me wether this door is fitting ok because it is the best i can get it to fit. i will just have to put another skim of filler in the back wing to bulid it up

pics taken form my phone so not best quality

hi all managed to get some work done on car finally i have got the doors to fit properly. Aka put some more filler in the back wings and bent the doors. Today i started by finishing off the driver side back wing and the moved onto the start of the stone chipping on sills and rear valance.

ill let the pics do the rest of the talking.

Just letting you know the outer sills you put on are actually over-sills , these unlike original ones are much bigger and are not vented to let out the moisture , thus it just gets trapped inside and rusts itself from the inside out. Very good though - take a look at my project thread , mine will be in your kind of condition in about a years time LOL. Good luck mate.

hi the carbon was a bit of a swine today i wasted nearly half a meter but ive coated one of my mirror back's its not perfect but it looks ok. have you tried putting power stright to the starter switch on the drivers side inner wing if you put poer to one side the engine will wurl over and if you put power to the other side you can wirl the engine over with the key thats how i get mine running at the mo but ive forgot which side is which lol

also im hoping that the stone chip will act like the original tar but might now have the same weight lol

anyway as i said ive been in the garage today i have been working on my mirror backs well 1 of them it took 3 attempts to get the carbon to look ok so ive wasted nearly half a meter of carbon fibre :D but im happy with how this one looks now just have to apply the final cots of resin tommorow any ill let the pics do the talking now

under coat of resin ready for laying the carbon fibre

Posted Image

the 1st of 2 sheets of carbon i layed only to be ripped of and a new sheet layed but it worked 3rd time lucky lol

Posted Image

the 3rd sheet of carbon not perfect but not bad for my first time using it lol

as it looks now

i got the carbon off ebay from a place called carbon mods and with the postage it came to just over £50 what i though was not bad but i have now realised why carbon fibre parts are so expensive. its because it takes loads of time and patience to do 1 part this has took 2 days now and i might even have to apply another coat of resin tomorrow
