No idea what the next bit is but looks good on the door. How much are you intending to carbinise ? Dash ?? or just a few small bits? Great build though all in all.

hi all after passing my driving test in November i have been using the car pretty much everyday in all weathers and absolutely loving it well was until it got really cold and the heater turned out to be pretty naff dosent help when heater valve is shut and the cable is not connected neither. last sunday it was our club meet and it was very cold must have been -4 ish and the inside of the windscreen froze up cleared it but with the heater being naff by the time i was home all the windows had frozen backup and i had only a little hole to see out of glad my house was just down road from meeting place for that week  . so i set about getting a new heater luckly a good friend of mine has a spare mini and i asked if i could borrow the heater out of that one ;D he said yep so i now have a single speed later style heater fitted the diffrence is amazing it clears the widscreen in no time also bought a heater cable so i now have a fully functioning heater :D.

enough waffle heres a few pics of changing the heater over and sorting out my spaghetti wiring

one frozen window on the inside :ohno:

Posted Image

the proof it was frozen this was scraped off when i got home

Posted Image

Posted Image

so out with the old and in with the new

Posted Image

having to find a new earth point for all my wires so the dash had to come out >_<

the car is all back together now and the heater works great 100% better than the old one will be updating with more stuff very soon :D

sorry for pic quality was taken with my phone

Love your build, hadn't looked at it in ages and I didn't realise it was yourself who was doing the centre consoles, one of which I'll be ordering in the new year.

Love the colour, love your windows and door cards, love your car. Keep up all the little touches, I think it's those that makes a mini, your mini.

One small tip: you should use copper grease when using hi-lo's. I did that myself and they won't corrode solid like that. To prevent corrosion of the surface you could consider painting them ;)

hi i used copper grease on them in the first place the corrosion was just from the threads that i had cleaned off to stop muck sticking bad idea haha they where free just looked a bit of a mess >_<

Any updates on this? :)

hi all update time :D ive have (hopefully ) finally tracked down and fixed all my water leaks into the car found out that the door seals where gathering water for so long then it was running into the car so have cured that but cutting two little notches out of the seals i can see day light through them so water should follow that path  out onto the door step. before the leak was fixed the car had to sit out side for a week over Christmas bad idea  i could actually ring out the water from the carpets >_< . i have also over the past few days started to polish my twin carb setup only had them for nearly 3 months now  the one i started to experiment on is looking great now think iam going to be ordering the rebuild kits end of this month once the bits have come i can totally strip and vizard the internals :gimme: . anyway enough form me here's a few pics of what been happening

came out of sixth form to find del boy had parked next to me
