thanks was thinking about putting badges on the boot but Ive changed my mind again. you brought a smile to my dads face too about the Capri :(

hi all took the car for the mot Friday and it passed just need to sort out insurance tax and then wait until i turn 17 and learn to drive cant wait. also when we were coming home from the mot in it we saw what looked like a mk1 / mk2 red cooper heading towards town never seen it around before, Got a feeling when i get on the road i will see loads of mini's out and about.

hi all not really much of a update but turned 17 a few week back now learning to drive in the car. had a few little probs over the first week with the car alternator over charging the battery lack of power but got these fixed had to change the head to sort the power issue id modified the head but didn't have it skimmed to get compression ratio back so a dumb mistake really now running with another standard 998 head i had spare. at the moment me and my dad are just getting the final touches to the car before London to Brighton buying and fitting sun visors etc. hope to meet afew of you at london to brighton

Hi all been a bit since i updated passed my theory test a few week back. took the car to the local classic car show about a month ago had a great time in the rain :D with sheffield mini club and my friend jake driving home my indicators went really dimm sorted that out with a new fuse box and flasher units. had it runnig pretty much problem free apart form leaking in water which leaves a puddel under the carpet found out where it was coming in today and have hopefully sorted it. after that i went out for a drive in the car was drivng about for about 1 hour and a half i was going to pull up at some crossroads i tried to gear down from 3rd to 2nd and the selector was just wobbling about one of the pins in the selector has snapped or worked its way out so i was thinking the car was a box of neutrals but we where stuck in 3rd i tried to set off and stalled it so my dad took over it was interesting trying to get home in 3rd :- but he did it so a trip to p and l is needed as soon as now will post up some pics of the selector tomorrow ill get under the pit and have a look

Liam

p.s excuse my spelling spell check's not working :techsupport:

hi all got the car sorted the roller pin in the selector had dropped out or broke but i got a new one tried to fit it and found out it wasn't stuck in 3rd it was stuck in 4th haha but i got the new one in and it selects all gears also bought a halogen conversion kit and new rear drums so the handbrake works now  here's a few pics

removing the broken sealed beam why does the new one always brake first the other was on the car when i bought it and that has been on since at least 1997
