Good work i like it

I think im pretty set on it now. That four door i linked furter up is still on there with no bids. Also on pistonheads i think it was, was a decent starter with minimal welding for £600. Was quite a distance away though. But by the time im ready to buy ill be driving, so a trailer and i can go on my own as i wont mind driving the length of britain for the right car.

Also done a bit more on the photoshop and along with subtle windows tints, rat look stickers throughout the rear passenger doors >_<!

In mine? You get me an RB26DETT and I promise I'll put it in somehow >_<

Otherwise at some point in the not too close future it'll either be a baby V8 or a C20LET

Ill try especially for you then !

Purely for simplicity, decent tuning abilty, (No ecu crap!) and that lurvley burble, im set on a 2L Pinto. Whats a real pee take is that theres one on Wightbay (Isle of wight advertising site) for £150, low milage with proof to back it up, and its all rigged up to hear it running!

Wana see more updates! >_<

Fanks

Tis a good choice, there was a lovely HB with a Pinto on Ebay not long ago. Go get the one on Wightbay! You can get it all tip top in time for when you get the Viva. Perfec :o

I'd love to update more >_< but away for the weekend at MITP. Will be back on it next week though!

Im tempted dude but i change my mind like the wind and the garage is pretty full atm. Plus Dad's Mk2 Cortina 1600e is back from the spray shop any day now.

If its still there in a couple weeks i may have it. If not theres always sierras etc poping up for chips as mot failures and shizz >_<

Makes me feel really old seeing an old Viva, especially as there seemed to be millions of them about in the 70's early 80's. Nice looking motor, brings back memories.

Very nice looking Viva matey.

In my time I think I've had about 5 of them...and recognised the Owners Club sticker in the back window (do you know Lix Hextall???).

Anyway, I think I recognise the number plate as being one registered by Shaw & Kilburn in Luton and used as a fleet car by Vauxhalls. (I was dragged up about 3 miles from the factory).

Ah the memories....

Don't know Lix Hextall I'm afraid. Not been able to meet/talk to that many people on the Viva forum yet. Yep, this started out as a Vauxhall fleet car from the Luton factory, think I might have some paper work somewhere on it.

On the vauxhall viva owners club forum. Www.vauxhallviva.com. Not that much interest in vivas yet and also not that many around. Can take a few days to get a reply sometimes but those guys know their stuff.

Other good forums are the chevette forums, droopsnoot group (dsg.com), vboa forum, and the chevette mk1 has the same running gear as the viva too

Haha good man. Might have a shell you can have if you want it. Though not sure what condition its in, and it'll be missing a few things but if you're putting pinto in it you wont worry too much :)

On the brink of scrapping mine out of frustration. Still got the charging problem, no idea why its doing it, still has an occasional problem with the ignition switch so sourcing a new one, still trying to sort out the new crossmember and bits...

and today I thought I'd change my dodgy vac unit in some spare time I had. Got the new one on and it didn't start, took it apart again and found a break in a wire, fixed it. Then would start but ran awfully. Took it apart again, thought I might as well change condenser while I was at it and checked the points gap. Now hardly runs at all......

I couldn't say how many times I've taken apart dizzys and cleaned, checked and renewed parts, but for some reason this just doesn't want to work! Think it's because I was looking at leccy ignition earlier

Oi you, don't make me start! :)

Got the dizzy sorted yesterday. Turns out when I put the new vac unit on, i knocked a very fragile wire and broke it. When I found that and repaired it I put on a new condenser as well, and this was then fouling the shaft as it tried to turn. So a good clean out and the old condenser bracket sorted everything out. Just put the newly painted Viva badge back on and pleased with the result.

The SL grille with the black middle I won on Ebay came yesterday, and it's crap. Still needs a few man hours polishing but bits are bent, scuffs and dents everywhere, and half the brackets have rusted off so I've got to make new ones. Shouldn't be hard but its more time. On the plus side the 1300 badge has cleaned up really well...but I don't want it :) Also everything's held together with rivets! Is there anyway to get these off without drilling through them?
