hmmm, the water pump does have a bit of oil on the top side of it, praps its coming from the rad end of the head. I spose one way to test it might be for any oil in the water, or water in the oil. There's no mayo on the filler cap at all. Its really hard to see the timing cover to see if its coming from there. Breather has brand new piping to carb, and wasn't at all blocked when i put it back on. Bugger, hope i don't have to whip the head off!! That'd be a bit annoying. Believe it or not the hardest thing about the whole engine work i did was getting the exhaust back on, trying to do it with the front of the car on axle stands on your own is a bit awkward lol.

Thanks siggy, i'm going to have a look this weekend coming (next days off work), and see what I can do.
