That seat is beautiful! Can't really go wrong with deep V's either.

Here's a mates we worked on last week, all smoothed and painted in olive drab camo paint.

Thanks dude. Love the olive colour! The lugging on that frame looks sweet too! Do you know what frame it is? Looks lush!

It's an old raleigh frame, can't remember what model but i'll try find out. The rear brake mount was smoothed, brake cable liners removed and filled along with the front badge holes.

Now i just need to get myself one!

A little update:

I managed to trade in my box of bits which i no longer wanted from the bike and my old BMX. My local bike shop has agreed that the trade will cover the building of my new wheels with the H Plu Son rims I ordered and the backpedal brake hub and they will supply black spokes & nipples and a front hub to match the look of the rear. pretty good deal I thought!

Apart from that I packaged up my frame and forks ready for collection so they can be taken to the powdercoaters who will blast and dip the frame and forks for me before powdercoating it. Also polished up the copper rivets on the saddle. The difference between the polished rivet and unpolished rivets in the photos is amazing:

Looking good now! no photo with them all polished but you get the idea!

...and the frame is in here amongst a mass of cardboard and parcel tape...

Having second thoughts about the cream colour tho... edging towards black but not sure! colour suggestions please!!!!!!! (pref with a RAL colour code?)

Next weekend is shaping up to be a good one as I will be picking up my complete wheels, except for tubes and tires, and hopefully a fully painted frame! Then all I have to get is a new set of barings/bottom bracket, cranks, chainring and pedals.

Can't wait!!!! :D

Cheers guys! I do quite like that green! I like it a lot actually. I definitely want to have black as my last resort as it's just such a popular colour and i fancy something a bit different... have you got a paint code for the green???

Rang the powdercoaters today and they actually told me they can't do it til september because they've got too much work on at the moment! Must be nice having that sort of job security in these hard times!

Anyway, I have decided that being lazy and getting someone else to do the stripping and painting for me wasn't going to give me as much satisfaction when I have a finished product, so, with my big stanley knife I cut the frame free of its cardboardy prison and I've decided to carry on sanding the frame and forks down after work this week so it can be ready for me to give it its first coat of primer (hopefully followed by a nice glossy colour :D ) this weekend.

I've been looking at that green Pete and I think it may have to be that colour. I've just fallen for it :D

I found this and I'm convinced:

Also be quite a nice idea to bring it back to something close to the original colour, if it is, which i found while taking the first layer of paint off.
Any way its going to look great with my deep rims and copper colours!

Excite!

Great news, :P

Spent most of the night on Flickr looking at fixies, i really do need one myself now. If you're ever stuck for inspiration thats the place to go for pictures!

Also watched a pretty decent programme on BBC last night, worth watching.

The story of the bicycle.

Picked up my wheels today! Well happy with them:

Rear:

I got the shop to build them with different spoke patterns because I like asymmetrical details.

I had to try them on the frame as I got a little excited :P

I finally finished sanding down the frame:

I'm not painting it myself now tho as I don't actually have anywhere to do it! I don't have any outdoor space as I live in a first floor one bedroom falt so I told my fiance I was going to cover all the walls in the bathroom and paint it in there but it turned out she didn't like that idea and had a hissy fit.

So after talking to the guy who built my wheels for me he recommended a powder coating place in Hilsea which isn't far from me so i'm dropping the frame around there on monday!

Getting some new bearings and cranks soon as well so should be finished this month! :trooper:

Look forward to your comments!
