Hi,

A friend of mine has an MGB that he wants to restore (long story :) )

Basicly, neither of us really know any places to get parts for them, so i was wondering if anyone on here knows anywhere decent.

Obviously quite a few parts from the mini fit etc, which is very usefull, but there are an awful lot of things ive never seen before, and need help understanding.

Basicly, any good places to get parts and info from would be great.
There doesnt seem to be an MGB forum like this one, which is kind of a pain :)

Thanks

Chris & Liam

On an MGB, I'd be surprised if more than a handfull of parts from a mini fit, its a totally different animal.

I used to use:-

The Welsh Mg centre
The MGB hive
The MGOC shop.

Its worth Joining the MG Owners Club(mgoc) as they have an excellent tech help line.

Be prepared for a shock at the price of the parts!!!

I do not know much about the classic MGB and parts. The Sills are Expensive to replace and care Fitting them if you need to.The Engine if 1800cc is same ish as the old Marini 1800cc model and some other parts. The Susp. parts have become rare. They love rust to.They are a top Classic worth restoring like Midgets and Spitfires. All the Best post some Pictures for advice on it. :)

Moss are great. Talk to them aswell about an account if you are going to be doing a lot, and they will help you out with some discount. The website is good too. The exploded drawings can be worth their weight in gold.

I mainly use MGB Hive for mine, as well as ebay, had some real bargains on there. Stainless exhaust for 15 quid, stainless petrol tank for 20, its great. But in general a lot more expensive than the mini!

Check Out David Manners in Oldbury, Birmingham (same place as mini spares midlands)
Also theres Leacy MG in Perry Barr, Birmingham (who generally stock all the essential bits you need immediately, that minispares dont, because theyre donkeys)

Both do mini parts, and MG parts, bonus! :D
