I have recently installed a set of twin 1 - 1/4 carbs but there seems to be no connector for the breather tube from the back of the crank case. is this standard or am I missing something??
Does it need to be plugged in to the carb for everything to work?

I have circled the pipe :D

Well, normally there are breather pipes on each carb but your ones seem to be lacking this.

What you can do is plumb the crank case breather pipe into the air filter (so its inside the element / nothing between carb mouth and breather pipe) with a couple of barb fittings. I'd suggestion also splitting the pipe if you do (Y Splitter so both carbs get the same amount of crank case air, be simpler to balance).

But that's what I suggest.

You seem to have an earlyish set of carbs without the breather pipes fitted. So you either have to connect the breather into the air filters or into the inlet manifold via a pcv valve.

You could just fit crankcase breather filters, available from minisport. You don't need to have the breather connected to the carbs or manifold.
