..Spain is for single people who sleep at someone elses hotel...

and how many times have you been out here? the original posters comments were about one tiny island not the other 503,184 km2.

I live in the north in a region called catalonia, and yes there are some horrible hotels (a fair few in lloret de mar) there are thousands of lovely places to stay.

Please do not tar an entire country with the same brush from one bad experiance.

My Comments are not about the island or its residents but the bad service that I got from a British run holiday company. The radio broadcast did not go ahead as I was offered a more acceptable compensation, on legal advice I did not do the interview.

Glad you have received an offer which was acceptable to you, although it can never really compensate for the hassle and frustration you must have been through.

On the flip side, we have travelled with Thomson for a number of years and always been very happy with our holiday.

Last 2 times ironically, to Lanzarote. Papagayo Arena, and Hotel H10 Rubicon both in Playa Blanca.

You can only ever speak based on your own experiences, just wanted to highlight that it's not always bad.
