put it at the front Ian like i did works a treatnot sure on turbos although bigchief has done one so i am sure it is possible. MY current question:
What structural properties do the triangle sections on the left and right sides have (the ones connecting the wings to the firewall, just in front of the tower bolts)
The problem i am having is that the left hand one is in the way of the alternator, what are my options here?
thanks

no room with a std steel front dude
how is the overheating issue going....mine seems ok at idle as the fan comes on but goes off again so i assume this is ok...
havn't really driven it yet to find out how it does on the road, not sure how much more heat it will make at high revs and if this will be offset by the car moving in airflow...

Any chance I can take a look at your conversion next weekend at Stamford ?
A few pics would be a great help.
Are you going with a club or alone ?

So jobs i have done over the past couple of days:
welded the holes in my sills (they would not pass MOT this time )
made a fan shroud
finishing under the bonnet
cleaning rear brakes
alternator mounted
driving it (on a private road....to check its all working....)
sent off my v5
Jobs still to do:
insure
finish bits of the interior
finalise the wiring on my new switch panel, it's not quite perfect yet
So here are some pictures for yous:

None of the switch panel cleverness.
I've been looking and the engine are realy cheap to buy, wiring doesn't look terrifying either. And minimal bulkhead mods.
Winner in my eyes.

How much would you say you've spent on this conversion, just fitting the engine and getting it running?

i think if you really try and already have the correct tools you can maybe do it for £300
I will attempt to compile a list of bits i brought at some point for yah! I have also begun putting together a wiring guide for the engine to hopefully help people with their projects

I will say as many said to me - buy a micra car and dismantle yourself if you can much cheaper in the long run.

Well done very impressed, so from an old one (46 year old) to a much younger one - congratualtion on a great build.
Please when you get time put together any info you can on wiring the micra mini.
Again thanks.
Andrew
PS dash looks awesome, mine is a fibreglass one but I didn't have the knowledge to convert it like you have.

I will be doing the wiring guide, i have to document it for myself in some way
So it is all insured now and I have the mot on tuesday hopefully, before that though i will be replacing my rear radius arm as they have more play than i am comfortable with.
'I will say as many said to me - buy a micra car and dismantle yourself if you can much cheaper in the long run.'
I fully agree with this.
