Found some very rare wheels on ebay just recently, these were the only set I had ever seen on a mini (mine) and this was (wait for it) 23 years ago :D

I have had a look through this list http://www.mini-mayfair.net/12.html and they are not listed. They have * MMAA COVENTRY * on the inside of them but I know nothing more. I'd love to see an original set and get the ones I have restored to look like new. These eventually will be up for sale and wonder what you think or even have any details/info on them.

Any help would be great.

*mods I hope this is the right place to post this, please move if req'd.*

= (

Ok 74 views and no one knows anything about them, how about suggestions for how to have them restored!

I was thinking either gloss black inserts and a diamond cut face (wheel nut area and front of the 4x spokes) and rim edge. I am going to lepsons today to go get an idea of cost, I dont want to do them myself as I want them tip top. If they are going to be very expensive to have done I may even consider weighing them in. It will be a shame to see such rare wheels go to the scrappy :)

I have found some 67mm centre caps for them very cheaply so these 'at the moment' have good potential.

Any Idea's guys?

Asphalt would be the best person to ask. He created that site so would be a good place to start

also, they are on the 10" wheel page of that site, about 2/3rds of the way down "MMAA Conventry, made in england, 5Jx10" on backside of the wheel.

Slight stumbling block!!!

These are not alloy...... they are magnesium :)| so lepsons are unable to help. They will not be able to be acid dipped either so will need to be done by a special specialist (as if lepsons wernt specialist enough) = (

SO it looks like I'm kinda stuck with them ATM and not sure what to do next.... *paces up and down thinking*

Thing is they need some work around the edge of the rim due to some kerbing so not sure where to go now : /

I'd want to check that the liquid metal was ok for use with magnesium first, as I recall it can be funny stuff.

As shifty says, When I take on a project it gets done properly. I dont cut corners, nor stick to a budget. If i dont think it looks right to be on my car then it wont on anyone elses car either. I have looked up local welders for magnesium in my area and will be sounding them out real soon. This wont be a straight forward project.... but then again..... are any projects that are??

Try contacting Minilite - they are used to refurbing magnesium wheels. Might not be cheap tho'
