cheers man, not to hard to make either! and they will last twice as long as standard aftermarket sills! :techsupport:

picked up the new 1275 engine for her yesterday, 37k miles on the clock, sweet as a nut! took it for a test drive (on private land) was great fun, the metro it came from was pretty much stripped to an engine, wheels, seats and a shell... it was bare, no doors, most windows gone, no bonnet etc! sweet little motor, bit cold though! heres a video...

this was on private land, i dont encourage this test driving on public roads, it would be dangerous, stupid, and youd likely to get the book thrown at you! keep it safe kids!

Hmm, yes private land. :techsupport:

Have you still got the Metro, any chance you could pull the rear seat retaining latches off for me?

honest guvna!, it was private land! :techsupport: i dont have the metro, i took then engine out of it on a farm, the metro was already stripped bar the essentials to make it driveable to demonstrate the engines a good 1! the bloke had a minter of a 998 metro though!

quick update, spent 3 hours unwrapping and re-wrapping a good condition wiring loom for the clubvan, im retro fitting a 76 loom as i prefer the simplicity of it all, labelled it all up off the car, thought it be a good idea so when it come to fitting, its all straight forward! there are a few connectors that need re-newing, but for 35year old loom, its in great condition! :- will post some pics up later if anyones interested in seeing some wiring pics lol

i had all mine on my living room floor lol went through it first to check there was no butchery, checked all the connectors, found 2 wires that have been added, 1 for a live to the horn (found the correct wire needed under the grey tape! so got rid of 1 extra wire) and i think the other extra wire is a live feed to a stereo, which is handy as i plan to fit one! wiring looks mint now its all re-taped in black tape, the old stuff was horrible, sticky and greasy, so much improved!

just for you nick, heres a picture of the wiring...

all the red tape are labels to show which wire goes to which component! did all the labelling without looking in the manual, or on the car! :-

I was thinking that. The loom does look small.

Considering this is what mine looks like lol.

I'm just gonna buy a new loom for mine as my one is well and truly cream crackered lol.

Keep up the good work anyway mate! Look forward to seeing this finished. :-

the wiring is more than basic, which is good, as less wiring = less weight lol

cheers man! its taking abit longer than id hoped, but thats only due to the weather holding me up, ive book all of next week off work to finish the bodywork off and get it stripped down ready for its respray, then its basically just fitting up ready for L2B!

the wiring on yours does look a little spaghetti-fied lol but its very simple to sort out (especially with the more basic loom like im fitting!)

finally got the last bits for my coilovers, as there was a piece missing from each, so very happy about that! also refurbished my mk3 steering column, gave it a lick of paint, and polished up the cowl, came up like new! :) just refurbing the bolt on parts while the weathers bad, fingers crossed the weather is good next week, as i have the week off to get the body work finished ready for paint!
