as stated, the engine is in and running sweet! need to tweek it a little though as it pinks a bit when turning the engine off, also need to get a new solenoid, the terminals on mine are literally falling off! i also need a longer exhaust, as the previous owner said it had been fitted with a new one, but forgot to mention it was a saloon one! so its a little loud from echoing under the rear lol but at least im motoring along now! happy days!!

here are a few pictures of todays work!

it helps when u got an engine hoist! and also helps if you know where all the bolts go! i drove to the chinese, shame the exhaust is to short! need some exhaust paste to for the manifold where it joins the exhaust, blowing abit, n need to give the brakes a once over as there a little spongy, but other than that i was chuckin it round the corners like it was on rails! very happy, and it means i can get to work monday morning! lol

it is very handy! havnt put it to use yet as sorting out a few teething problems at the mo, the old solenoid packed up yesterday stranding me at work, but thats sorted as had a spare at home, had to lengthen the exhaust by about a foot as it was a saloon exhaust, n came up way short n was blowing and very loose and knocking underneath, indicator stopped working but that was just a loose connection, other than that jus waiting till pay day so can order a few panels to get her looking mint!

quick update (shame my comp is playin up, got some nice pictures to post up!) ive cut out and replaced the following yesterday-

door step
drivers floor pan
inner wing
ive also repaired the seat cross memeber where it had rotted through
and also the leading edge of the toe board where the floor pan joins in

each was cut out, and new panel seam welded into place, i have the a-panel and scuttle closing panel to fit tonight, and thats the drivers side done (aprat from seam sealing and stonechipping) next weekend ill be attacking the passengerside! and hopefully ill have my comp working fully then to upload pictures!

Gorgeous looking car........I think you got the right idea about only modding what you can reverse later because it looks very original....best of luck.

got some more done last night, had a nightmare with the door though! before i cut anything out, i measured everything twice, to get the right fit etc, but when it came to fitting the door, to my horror it wasnt sitting straight, and didnt fit! turned out to be a twisted door, the frame had cracked over the years and dropped, twisting the door out of shape! luckily i have a few spares and found one that fitted near bang on! more updates soon!!!

Cough Cough, understatement of the year!

You gonna be busy on it this weekend Lewis? Might pop over if you are, or I could work on my own car...
