another small update, i cleaned, rust treated, primed and stone chipped the engine bay when i got home from work, and behind where the grill sits, as this wont be seen once the trim is all fitted up! think it looks pretty cool, and i quite like the textured finish it gives (and stone chip can be sanded slightly once dry if its a little too rough!)

stone chip is spray on, i used a proper stonechip gun with the stone chip that comes in canisters

more progress today, finished the inside, vacummed it all out and stone chipped all the floors, the insides of the van panels, and part of the roof to try to reduce some of the 'tinny-ness' and made a start skimming where the van sides were welded in.. and got it back on all 4 wheels!....

not far off now, the filler on the sides is minimal, which is nice! and no its not an rac van anymore, its an ra, as i managed to scrape most of the multi layers of paint off with a paint scraper, just flaked off lol

Yeah when i had it, the sides wernt that bad to be honest, the passengers side was worse than the drivers side ;) but its looking good now matey :(

hopefully get all the prep work finished tomorrow, wont take much now! :( got a DA sander, but the compressor i run it off has a pump thats too small for it, so i can use it for 5mins, then gotta wait 10 for it to refill with air lol

Lewis get yaself down to ya local aldi on sunday, they have air tools cheap and i mean cheap. Good compressser for £80, metal shears (nibbler) £12 or so, impact ratchet like £15. yeah get down and have a look

You under estimate this DA sander man.
It empties a 100l tank at 9bar in about 5 minutes.
Much to powerful for the Aldi stuff.

i already got the compressor nick, had it bout 2years now, prob the only thing id want is the panel nibbler and small cut off tool from aldi

and by the looks of it, rain stops play today, which is a mega annoyence! :( could of done with spending more time on the body prep today, sods law!
