Yes, the one in my link is 8 valve on a 850 small bore block:

Read! It's got about - nothing to do with an 850 anymore... except the block. With a rather extreme overbore... Not look how close the valve pockets are to the block and then substrackt the difference to the 850's original bore dia. from this particular engine's bore and see where you end...

If you have a mill this mod is supposed to give you amazing power...
Owen, is that head yours and do you have any info on it?
I had a similar head sitting in my garage for nearly twenty years until I recently sold it to a freind, I tried to find out info about it but all I knew that it was made by a guy called Geoff Byron?? and had been used on a 1430 rallycross Metro by the guy I bought it from. I had planned to use it but bottled out and bought a MED Clubmans head instead although I did trial fit it onto the engine in my old clubbie just after I acquired it.

I'm interested to know how you plan on welding those plugs.
it is possible to weld cast iron, not easy though, the head needs to be heated up quite a bit before you weld it.
who says you need to weld the old intake holes up? you could make a plug and braze it, or simpler still plug and weld a steel inlet manifold and fit it on the back, or make a plate with the exhaust holes and all stud holes. Fit it in place with an exhaust gasket and inlet gasket, then bolt your exhaust (with another gasket) on to clamp it in place. - worst case scenario you'll need longer studs.
I like this idea, I hope someone does it.
...wonders off to look see if I have a scrap head knocking about.
