It dosent want to to go in!! Ive had to remove the servo and stuff. I buggered up the brake pipes from the master cylinder to the regutator on the bulkhead.
Well with the servo gone its an easyer job, why didnt i remove it all before trying to fit the engine, Im such an idiot sometimes.... Beer!!! that will help.
Time for the messy bit. I filled the pot joints with this stuff and lowered the engine the final 6 inches. WOO- HOOOO!! Its in...
Im going to bolt it all in over the weekend and fit all the other bits. Hope to have it running by sunday night..

And for me, it's more a case of "one more Lemsip", then spraying arches and making a dashboard...
Good luck man!

Yeah there is a bad cold going about. I have managed to avoid it so far....................Can you catch a cold over the internet???It says on there website that they transmit more engine noise, but i haven't noticed a difference...
And for me, it's more a case of "one more Lemsip", then spraying arches and making a dashboard...
Good luck man!
Good luck with the dashboard dude.

Having had to change my 1380 crank in a day, I can say I'm very jealous of the time you have
I am lucky in so much as this is my toy. I dont need it to be on the road all the time. Well done changing that crank. Thats a big job for one day!!!
I did eventually go out to the garage today.. Got the engine mounts sorted and all the kit connected up. Its turning over fine and the oil pressure is good (70psi) with the spark plugs out... It wont start though... I think its the distributer is out by 180 deg. Will try and sort it next week.

New fuel pipe.
Its run through the car next to the tunnel and under the rear seat, up and through the seat back and out next to the fuel pump.
At the front it comes out through the bulkhead and up behind the carb..
I used cuttings of the old flexible pipe to make the final connections to the pump and carb. With the new pipe tested and fuel now getting to the carb I fitted the exhaust system and adjusted the dizzy as it was 180 deg out.
Then turned the key................Nothing, It still wont start. Had a good look about and found the back of the engine was wet??? Yep its petrol... Bloody inlet manifold is not sealing against the head... So I had to strip it all off and take a look.
The inlet port for cylinders 1 & 2 is warped and will never seal against the head!!! How the hell does that happen????
Lucky I have the manifold off the other engine, So fitted that one and had one last check. Fingers crossed I turned the key..............................BROOM........SPLUTTER ....BROOM. It runs.
Tomorrow Im going to bleed the brakes, connect up the new dash and set the timing with the strobe light before adjusting the mixture and idle.
Cant wait to take "Haggis" for a shakedown run. No more than 3000 revs for a while though..
