Could always put some soapy water on the joints near the link pipe and look for bubbles.
That might work, but make sure the exhaust is stone cold, and as soon as it's started you look. As the exhaust and especialy manifold heat up in a few seconds.

Yeah tell me about it
Pull off my drive "ahh crap, my exhaust just fell off, don't worry, I will just slot it back on" BURN!
Bugger.
You've reminded me that I need to fix my blowing exhaust.

I did that, in the middle of bristol in a multi story car park, tho I went over a speed bump and the exhaust stayed put and started melting into the rubber bump! Was a bit unnecessary tho, massive speed bump! Was very noisy all the way home (75 miles of it!!!)

Got it on after a lot of jiggery-pokery, yes! No more blowing.
Lets go for a spin... trundle trundle trundle. Hmm, sounds good, back pressure, feels good.
Oh shi... that was my exhaust, oh so was that.
The bracket the holds the exhaust on (well, both of them) broke as I was going along which meant I had to drive home, very slowly and loudly, with an exhaust system sticking out my car.
Great.
Need to grab a mounting kit and will fit it tomorrow, SO annoyed though, my luck has been going out the window recently.
