How necessary is it to make a lip around the front half of the wheel arch when cutting it?

If its gonna be coverred by an arch after you cut it, then it doesnt matter. If your leaving it bare, then you want the lip to make it look rite.

It adds a great deal of strength to the wing and prevents the arch cutting into the tyre.

But... if your putting arches on, wouldnt that replace most of the rigidity anyway?

If your suspension is set up right, then it shouldnt touch the wing, and if it does, then you need to cut more off.
