I'm sure everyones as shocked as we are at the news of Taffys recent death, he was a much loved member of the forum and will be dearly missed(I don't think I'll be able to look at a photo of a wiper motor park switch without thinking of him!!)

Funeral details are sparse at the moment, it does seem that he requested a mini procession at the funeral.

Its all happened so suddenly and has caught us all by surprise.

So it only seems fitting that as a forum we should do something as a mark of respect for a true enthusiast.

With this in mind I'd like to set up a fund to collect donations and perhaps send a wreath to the funeral or make a donation to a charity in his name. This obviously depends on the familys wishes.

So who's up for donating some money to get us started, also any ideas of tributes for him

I'll willingly donate Shifty. His knowledge has helped me out on a few occasions. I think to start with either flowers/wreath for the funeral or a donation to a charity chosen by his wife would be a good start. Maybe then we could set up a fund in his name to give to a chosen charity each year.

An idea i had was to have a collection at Knebworth next weekend.. What do you think ?

I'l donate some money once i get the funding in my paypal at the end of the month.

Something personal that i would like added though. I have a copy of SGT Pepper which was actually one of the main things that brought me and Taffy together. Its an original copy of the vinyl and Taffy being a huge Beatles fan taught me all there was to know about the Beatles and the grading of vinyl's, their value, etc. Maybe it can be on display in one of the Mini's at his funeral, or anywhere that his family find fit for it?

I'm down for sending a donation Sean! We get paid on the first....if you are in constant contact with Martin I can throw an extra tenner in along with the funds I was going to send Martin, then he can just give you the tenner from me for Taffy. Did you get all that?

Taffy was like a permanent fixture around TMF......it's the least I could do.

We do need to get as much money as possible, as soon as possible for the wreath. The funeral will probably be in the next couple of weeks. Before this we'll need to get the wreath made as well.

Time is a bit of a factor really.

Any money left over will be donated to charity.

Donation made...well done Shifty for organising this. Please let me know when the funeral is and I'll try and organise a group of minis to attend. I'm guessing Wales e venue?


Anyone in the southeast want to contact me re a trip to Taffy's funeral. Nothing definite yet as the family will have to be consulted. However, I understand that they have requested a procession of minis.
