I was hoping to find Taffy at the South Wales Mini show to say thanks for all the advice he gave me on my various 'car not working' threads.

Very sad to hear this.

Now that i've pulled myself together a little after my first post, I think something need's to be done, as a community, to celebrate such a great life, and such a great guy. I feel like i owe something to Taffy, he offered me so much in the time that i knew him, and he was always there for me. Im sure Darryl's wife and son Dominic would agree, Taffy loved Minis, and his family, that's what he lived and stood for. Im sure that he'l be remembered eternally aslong as theres Mini's on the road, and that hes up there looking down on us all right now.

Yeah , I agree, we should do something. Maybe we could get some stickers made to stick in our minis for shows and that with the TMF Logo and then like R.I.P Taffy or something

I had a quick look over on south wales minis which was his local club and attended many shows with. His wife Marie explained that

he would have liked a mini procession as he wasnt religious

.

I have contacted the administrator of southwalesminis.com to see if I could get a date for the funeral, and hopefully, get a few TMF cars there aswell.
I feel this would be a fitting tribute to such a great guy.

I agree....something should be done to honor his memory by TMF. He was a LONG time member on here and as such really did contribute alot to us all whether we exchanged posts or not. At one time or another we ALL read a post by Taffy! He was a big help to many of us on here.....I like the sticker idea but I'm not sure Taffy would be keen on me putting his screen name on my new Bini! Lol! Maybe there is something personal we can do for his family....besides the local Mini owners (and the ones willing to drive to his neck of the woods) doing a little run for his ceremony. Does anyone have any more ideas? Also, where was he from? I know this "yank" learned ALOT from the various videos he posted.....VERY appreciated! He contributed to my knowledge of the history of the Mini. Also, I am a HUGE Pink Floyd fan Taffy....spend some time hanging out with my cousin Shane up there in heaven, he loved Pink Floyd with a passion. Again, Godspeed man!

I've just read that, too. Hopefully somebody can stay in touch with his wife Marie to keep us updated as things go along.

We're also putting a few ideas in the staffroom to find a way to commemorate a good friend, the only thing is finding something that is fitting for such a cracking chap, it needs to be good.

I still can't believe it, totally gutted. My thoughts are with his family - we'll try and do anything we can to support them.

I think I have a GREAT idea! How about we change the red Mini at the top of the forum's page to Taffy's Mini? What do people think?
