I am a new member to the forum but I have been following it for some time. I just had to join so I could pay my respects to such a great person as Taffy. His contributions to this and other forums have provided so much entertainment and information to me and to many others.

I could not help but shed a tear or two but I am comforted in knowing Taffy had so much pleasure in his lifetime driving his beloved Mini for many thousands of miles, which is probably more than most of us will ever achieve in ours.

My thoughts are with his family.

A very sad day and tragic news, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, I didn't know him personally but what a legend in Mini circles, he has left a great legacy of info on the forum, the forum wont be the same without him. RIPTaffy1967

What with one thing and another, I haven't been on here much for a few months. I've just found this and I'm quite deeply shocked. Taffy was a great asset to the forum and a truly friendly and genorous bloke. He and I may have sparred a bit from time to time over the years but I always looked forward to his historical clips and videos and I considered him a part of the furniture. A reassuring presence if you like. He was a true enthusiast of many things, all of it coming from the Britain of his youth. In many ways a geek, and a hero. He had a real passion for the things that he liked and couldn't really see why anyone should prefer anything more modern! Ironically for such a fan of Dr Who he was truly a man stuck out of time. Seeing that Taffy was posting to a thread always raised my interest. It was like a game to guess what kind of thing he would be posting and whether it would be remotely relevant!

Taffy I never met you, until today I never even knew your name, but we spent a lot of time chatting here over the years and I will truly miss your contributions and unique point of view. Godspeed.
