Just apologising for some of Taffy's threads and posts disappearing, we are working on something which will take a bit of time but they'll all be back on the main forum soon.

I am so shocked to be reading this he was only 43 wasn't he?I am on holiday and thought I might have a look on here as I haven't been on in such long time, (sorry for any typos I'm typing this on my Iphone) I remember our thread that was split because taffy and I were talking about Pink Floyd and Syd Barret so much we were kind of taking over the thread with YouTube vids . So as Taffy was such a Syd Barret and Pink Floyd fan and hopefully hes able to read this thread with all it's replys, I think all I can say is "shine on you crazy diamond" RIP and thanks for the laughs and facts both about cars and music you shared with me,

Shine on You crazy diamond!

Shows how much he was willing to help people with all things mini. What a great guy.

Well said, there can't be many blokes that get such a good reputation on a forum for being such a great fella.

Just a thought, could we have a Memorial page on the site/forum in recognition of such a helpful & willing guy?

Bec is already organizing for this to be done. There's going to be a section dedicated to Taffy :)

I've just released it onto the main forum, it is still a work in progress but I didn't feel it was right to keep his posts and topics I'm working on in the staff section so people couldn't read them.

We've never had sections before dedicated to the history of the mini, memorabilia and special edition info that Taffy loved so we feel it's right to start these to honour his memory and continue his passion.

Please if you feel they need changing in any way to make them better just say.

I hope he'd be proud :)

Taffy's Tardis is great, Well done! :)
Darryl would be so impressed............I remember how proud he was when I told him Miniworld magazine had twice featured a couple of his archive YouTube videos recently.

I have a few more rare old Mini video clips that I had only recently arranged with Taffy to send him on dvd for editing and posting on YouTube, before his untimely death. I will upload them in the near future (but not so well edited!) and add them here in Taffy's Tardis as an honour to his memory and his passionate wish to share little known Mini information and history with others. Hopefully his family will allow his unique Mini video collection to remain on YouTube long into the future as part of his legacy to the Mini community worldwide.

:) Just came across this topic, can't believe it!

You get some people that stand out on forums for all the right reasons without them even knowing it, definately Taffy was one of those :D

Will miss you fella, thoughts go out to his family

Thanks for all these dedications guys. I used to drink (and eat curry) with Darryl (Taffy) on a monthly basis at a Doctor Who club in Pontypridd although I hadn't seen him this year for one reason or another. I was at a Doctor Who meeting in Cardiff tonight and we started a collection for his family / favourite charity / flowers there. He will be missed and my heart goes out to Marie and the kids. I've not found out when the funeral is yet but my friend tells me his favourite charity was Ty Hafan so perhaps people will be donating there. Would love to see a procession of minis at the funeral though, that would be a great dedication. Maybe I'll see some of you soon. Ian.

We do have a digital collection going on right now that will be donated to Ty Hafan in the end, there is also several other projects going on that are raising money for the charity :D

Brilliant to hear from somebody that knew Darryl so well. Thank's for joining up and sharing your memory's with us.
