here are some pictures of my current project, im rebuilding/refurbing this mini for my mom, it cost £300 from the builder that did some work for her and its very very solid and all original! last on the road in 1998, it suffered front end damage at the hands of the builders son, crashing it into a post in a field, then laid up until we got hold of it!!
so far ive changed the front panel, and saved the drivers wing, it will need either the doors repairing, or replacing, and general bits of rust to sort out, but nothing at all major! hope you like it!

Well it has reinspired me to keep looking for the original seats, i'm doing my 81 city to a pretty original spec. I have a feeling your progress may be slightly quicker than mine!

glad to of helped! lol im still on the look out for a 1980 mini city rear seat in black vinyl with houndstooth centre if you happen to find one in good nick! i currently have a plain black cloth rear seat from a clubby in my city, but the original seats up front, the original back seat was ruined by its previous owner (who was also a builder) as he used to chuck bags of cement on it! it had never been sat on either, but it was ruined :dontgetit:

quick update on this project, (i still need to source a good bonnet hence it not being painted yet) after failing at roller painting it with rustoleum, i went about spraying it instead, thinned the rustoleum down with the required ammount of proper thinners (rustoleum thinners/cleaner) and set about painting it, this worked great, but had some imperfections which i wasnt happy with at all, so sanded it down again (the roof needed doing again anyways, as you could see the marks from roller painting) painted it again and this is the result! nice high gloss shine...

(oh and i had no special spray booth, no gazebo or cover to paint the car in, i painted it as you see it now, on the grass lol)
