How do you remove the wiper arms on a 98 mini?? I want to fit stainless steel ones. I've also lost a nut for the washer jet and wondered where you can get another?

Haynes say;

To remove arm, first turn them on and off to make sure they're in the right position. Next, pivot the arm back and pull the wiper arm head off the splined drive, at the same time easing back the clip with a screw driver.

That simple?! I struggled to find a way and lost all my washer jet nuts trying to
fit them and the chrome bungs. Wasn't a happy bunny

Can be a little tight, but yeah. Grab the arm, Left to right, right to left... until its free. Or if its being a *willy*, as Haynes said a flathead under the bottom, and twist it, that'll give it enough leverage and movement to free it up.

A word of warning should you ever now wish to remove your nice new chrome wiper arms!! The metal egdes on the aftermarket chrome jobbies can be somewhat sharper than the standard Rover ones (at least mine were) . Grabbing the chrome ones firmly with your bare hand and trying to pull them off with the required amount effort can result in deep razor like injuries to your fingers and a trip to A&E (as I discovered!!)... I was a very unhappy bunny!!

pull, wiggle, shout, swear, they can be buggers or they can just pop off. Twincam said it best

Removed them with the help of my screwdriver. Fitted the new ones to find one wasn't turning with the splein so I used some electrical tape to thicken the splein and it now turns. Yet I'm still confused as to why both of them won't wipe the center of my windscreen. Is there a way of adjusting this?? As when I fitted aero flats to the old arms I had the same
problem

Another related question....wiper arm off ok. Retaining nut turns, but it turns WITH the wiper wheelbox body. The first one was simple. Wheelbox body stayed still, retaining nut turned and came off. Not the second one though. Another 5 minute job turning into an afternoon swearing
