I just got my Mardave Mini in the post today! Here he is!

All said, I spent less than 20 quid on him and he looks to have NEVER been ran! Good Deal!

Bargain,
Mine was also less then £20, and should turn up this weekend.

However, I think I\'m going to need to get a new shell for the one I bought, and generally tidy it up.
That shell doesn\'t look quite like those I was looking at (ebay), but does look good!

My experience of changing diffs on RC cars is that they are pretty simple. Especially on Pancars such as the Bolink. Mardave cars share the same axle design minus the diff. I'm assuming you have a Tamiya? Tamiyas aren't difficult to work on but they are borderline Radioshack cars. They are more plastic and philips heads than any of the other brands.....Traxxas used to be this way then they saw the error of their ways! I had an old Traxxas Hawk 2 and it was built very bad......then I got an Associated RC10T and that thing was built like a custom stadium truck, and that was BEFORE I modded it! Any pictures of the offending diff?

Here's one.....the grill is painted differently but they come in plain white so you'd have to do the painting anyhow. It is a Clubby though!

No not yet, The motor still spins, but there is no drive, and when you spin one wheel the other does not move.

Is this a big diff with the little planetary gears inside or is this a thin diff with a slipper clutch style setup with the little metal balls?

Like this one?

or like this one?

I own a HPI Savage and its fantastic - build quality is excellent and not too expensive. Loads of hop-ups available an pretty much indestructible (only real damage ive dun to mine involved a backflip off a spine skate ramp going wrong and dumping the car on its roof from about 8ft in the air. landed on engine heatsink, cracked the crankcase in half an ripped the engine mount in 2! now hav full body roll cage). will also do 40mph -_- which is good for a truck of its size. Looks the business to.

Not to be lazy. And this will probably be frowned upon. But do any of them come fully built and ready to roll? I have very little time at the moment to be thinking of building one.

i built my own rc mini country man from bits of scrap steel, a broken tamiya mini, and the wheels and steering from a mardave...

i also got a pretty rare nitro mini made in 1978 by koyosho, but unfortunatly its only the rolling chassis and shell, the internals went walkies years before i got my hands on it

Ok,

I may be changing my mind on the not building it myself side of life.

I am tempted to get the Tamiya M05 Mini.

But...I need a bit of advice, remember I am a nube, so just saying 2 Channel Radio and Servos confuses me.

So...What do I need other than this kit to get going? Under the actual item is a remote, but it says needs 12 AA batts, I do not fancy using loads of batts.

Someone suggest a decent novice set up for me (specific items would help)! I do not want to spend masses of money but obviously do not want it to be a one use piece of crud.

Cheers all,

Russ
