I've still got bits of an old first gen Tamiya Mini cooper. I abused the thing to no end when I first got it and never actually got around to painting it! I recently picked up a Team Losi Mini Rock Crawler and last night I noticed something...

Wheel base and track seems spot on for my old battered mini shell!

I might have to make a mini monster truck lol

It has a Duratrax Gatekeeper chassis, but the axle tubes themselves are standard width.

Ive got the tamiya m03, I don't really like lexans though so I've lined the insides with sheet styrene, cut the hugggge wheelarches off and started to narrow down a set of wheels so it resembles my 1:1.
Also cut the front off, so I can 'flipfront' it, although I think it'll just be a case of clipping it on so it can break free without causing damage if I crash it.

Here is my mardave v12 baised mini (AKA The Flying Knob)

I race it every saturday night in a small hall on carpet.

It's rear wheel drive driven by a brushed 540 motor on 4cell nimh.

I like the front bumper. Looks like you've had your share of fun with the car. Definately has personality.

thats cool! if you have a look on r/c sites, companies like proline and 3-racing make lightbars. you'd need to figure out a mount, but theyre worth a look, especially if you want the rally look :D

I'll try and get pics of mine up soon, hoping to have an abc hobby shell for it soon whilst im building my 1:1 replica
