alot of people just add a k and n panel filter that gives a nice sound without being over the top depends what reason you have to modify it

But doing so you might need to get a different needle as there will be too much air and not enough fuel, could try richening it up.....

Just a heads up :bah: :withstupid:

Standard air box, K&N filter and drill a few holes around the bottom front edge an all should be fine. Probably more efficient than the cone aswell.

Although I still prefer the neatness of the K&N cone filter myself.

It's only really annoying at high speeds and long motorway journeys, especially if all the soundproofing isn't in place.

i always found that cone filter wasnt that bad for long journeys. well in comparison to an exhaust anyway, as they seem to quiten up the induction when your light on the throttle .

if you dont want the noise a k&n panel filter is a good option.

I have found that the standard airbox with a K&N panel filter is much better than the cone filter.
This is because with the cone filter it draws in air from the entire engine bay. Whereas the airbox option draws in air as it should have from the factory. Hope this helps.

You've got a point there, but once on the move there's one hell of a large amount of cold air rushing in through the front grille, so the cone K&N is still effective.

I've had mine fitted for about 12 years and after a recent rolling road tune there was no problem at all.
