For anyone whos thinking of chopping the front off their cluby and having a removable/flip on there, then read this.

I decided to put my brace bars on tonight, but the inner wing section were they bolt on at the top is different to the round nose wing (even tho the brace bars are 'universal'). There is a bulge right were the bars need to go. I mulled it over for a while and came up with 2 options - Cut the bulge out and weld a plate in its place, or cut the bars a few inches from the end and bolt the ends on at a better angle and wld the rest of the bar to it.

I went for the second option and it worked out well, I'll post some pics soon.

The inner wing of the cluby has a different angle on it too, so I think even with cutting the bulge out there would be issuse with getting the bars to bolt up snug. Has anyone else with a cluby come across this problem too?

When i fitted a clubie front flip to my round nose , I made my own brace bars from inch square box section ( i was lazy and welded them to the inner wing at one end and the subframe at the other ) solid mounting did the trick but the welds cracked because i left the other mountings as rubber , lesson learned !

Mine's already solid mounted, I kinda do that as standard on all my minis so they handle better, and put poly bushes every were else...
