I took my monacos out and replaced them with cooper spi seats. Very comfortable, I think I prefer them over my mpi seats, and they are cheap and plentiful too.

I also like the spi seats, the one on the picture above.
We went to the imm last year and I was sleeping for more than an hour!

The interior I posted isn't that cheap and easy to find, we're looking for 2 new front seats. In the Netherlands you pay more than 800 euro's for a set like that :)

Thanks a lot for all the advice guys. Brilliant response.

The Cobra le mans are more expensive for a two seat package than the Corbeau GTS Recliners and look pretty similar.

My car is at the garage now after a really expensive MOT. I am tempted to really break the bank and ask them to put in a new pair.

this aftermarket makes me sick. there was been a difficulty from the manual. i call for a help to a auto mechanic regarding the Corbeau Seat Brackets, i learned sometimes that manuals can't be useful. still experience is best.

I'm also looking for seats as my basic studio2 seats are to low at the back and with the single bar headrest its a knightmare.
Used to have cobra clubman seats and would swear by them, unfortunately these were rubbish if you needed to use the back seats (we have kids now) so like the look of cooper spi's and it keeps the interior looking original (although tempted to get just 1 clubman for the driver!)

I ended up with the Corbeau GTB Recliners which are great. Comfortable and give great access to the back as you can pull the headrest out a side it right forward. I found a pair on secondhand with mini subframes for £135.

Rover 100 (metro) seats, cheap to source, o.e. spec quality and very, very comfortable. Fit in the confines of a mini very well.

I'll go with all the people that say recaros, my dad used to have an 800 vitesse with half leather recaros and they are nice and firm also very very comfortable. They also hold you in very well.

Afraid I have to disagree! Mine give me cronic back ache!! I find I sit weirdly arched in them too, so the back of the seat isnt supporting your back! Ive been looking at TR7 seats and Cobra Le Mans to replace mine with. Also, MX5 seats are comfy and fit in a Mini :P

Cobra classic seats have a single piece of foam about 10"x6" glued to the mdf board that makes up the back rest, thats all your support.

Mx5 seats are a good call :P

Hello everybody,

I have a pair of Cobra Monaco front seats. While they look the part for sure they almost instantly cause me neck pain and over long journeys are a slow form of torture. I was looking at some Corbeau GTB recliners (http://www.minispeed...liner-seat-grey) which look very nice, but are expensive (especially in light of my recent MOT)
Anyone got any recommendations for a sporty looking fast road seats? Around £100 per seat is more in my price range.

I would be happy to put in a pair reclaimed from a scrapped car. Are there any common donor vehicles i should look out for? I heard people lifting seats from Toyota MR2's and the like.

I am of course keeping an eye on the classified forum board here.

thanks all

I won some Corbeau GTB recliners off ebay, they are well comfy and have really good support.

Here is the link, as you can see they were a steal

I think i'm the first person to fit Smart car seats into a mini (certainly never seen any others fitted). They are nice, small light and seem really comfy so far.

Mind you, i wouldn't recommend trying to fit them unless you're reasonably good at fabricating and welding as they took a lot of work to fit.
