So what difference does that make? Just EXTRA clean?

Washing the car after going over with the clay bar gets rid of any streaks caused by the speed detailer/clay lubricant.

claying the car will leave the surface dirty leaving a residue. for waxing/polishing you want the surface as clean as possible. you will see what i mean once you clay it.

adit, what he said

I've got the task of doing the Range Rover again today :D
Snow foam, rinse, wheels, dry, clay bar, snow foam, rinse, dry, machine polish then wax. I might just commit suicide now!

I spent 6 hours cleaning my smiffy on saturday, in a strange way i find it very relaxing and satisfying, i need to borrow a polisher though as i have some swifl marks on the roof from the previous owner.

Bit off topic but have you seen my thread RE possibly having a clubstand for smiffys at Stanford hall in sept (its in the general meets section) not sure if you would be interested or nut but i have approx 5 cars wanting to come so far

Sorry but no pictures I'm afraid... :)

I was waiting all weekend for some good weather but just wouldn't stop with the little showers! :P

but I did get my suspension finished.

So ... This weekend ... the weather better be good!!!!!! Then I'll post the pictures on here, I was really disapointed, was really looking forward to doing it too!

I think I'm gonna buy a tester pot of the Dodo Juice Supernatural and see what that's like, I think it'll be enough to do the whole car, it's a 30ml tub.

As for the Paul Smith stand, I'm not sure, I'll have to have a look at the thread, I dunno where Stanford Hall is but it depends how far away it is! :D

OK... Listen to this ..... This made me FURIOUS!

I managed to finally get good enough weather to detail my car yesterday, perfect it was, not too sunny, not too hot.

So I started, washed it all twice, dryed it all, clayed the whole car, polished the roof, buffed that off, polished one door and the side, started to buff that off... Then the next door neighboor comes back from banger racing, crashes his car off the trailer and sweeps it all getting mud and dust and cr*p all over my car!!!!!!

By this time, I had already put the drying towel in the wash so if I washed it again I didn't have anything to dry it properly with.

I just couldn't believe it! That's 3 weekends now that I haven't been able to do it! lol and the mini run is this week!

I think I'm gonna see if I can take Thursday and Friday off work!

ARGH! lol

Everyone else have a good weekend?

Aren't people rubbish! Out of interest, one I've cleaned etc and then waxed my car, what should I use to strip that wax off when it's done its job after a couple of months? Both my AG and Meguiars shampoos are wax-friendly for basic cleaning, I guess I need something stronger.

When you polish your car it will remove the wax. What polish does is remove everything from the paintwork, then you can re-wax it or seal it again.

Or you can just put another layer of wax on the top of what's already there to give it extra protection.
