is it any better with the rockers swapped for standard items?

what cam are you using? if it's a reground cam there is a chance that the cam lobes are wearing down rather rapidly, (reground cams are common fot it)

could also be piston slap.

i have forged pistons and rods fited to my angine and i suffer from a similar noise, sounds like top end but is just piston slap (common with forged pistons)

Don't think it's that. It never used to do it lol.

Unless the timing chain cover has changed it's self.

The cam is a brand new. Well as if last year sw5i cam
fo the mpi. Got the full kit. With followers and duplex gear.

I got new pistons and rings fitter when the engine was rebuilt. I had to get the block bored out to +20 so larger pistons and rings were required.

What would the pistons slap off?

With the standard rockers it's a little better, but mainly the same :mrcool:

Mike
