The finished result is Near perfect. Down to the sprayer aswel but our prep was spot on too. We used 2k and the primer was arylic/cellulose

my green one (kermit) is painted in cellulose and I prefer the finish on that but you have to use laquer to give it a shine whereas on the 2k we've just gotta polish it and aparently itl have a harder layer of paint. I'm not a professional but this is what we did and it only cost us 100 to do the car although kermits paintjob was 1000!

You can use rattle can primer, just make sure it's a good quality, high build U-Pol is very good stuff, I try to do it in decent weather and leave it to dry for a few days. After that, I flat it with 800 grade sand paper with warm water with a with a touch of car shampoo in it (washing-up liquid contains salt)

2 pack and celly can be flatted and polished with a mop after it's completely dry (I use Celly on my DIY resprays). If you've put sufficient paint on (3 good coats) you can get an excellent finish.

hi thanks both, benh, have you got info on what aerosol you used? thanks minidick, i noticed that high build primer is expensive and i thought you only needed that to fill scratches and so on? i used normal grey primer from u-pol it was awful, lol.

thanks again

Celulose paint could react with your base as it is a solvent based paint, If sprayed
onto 2k paint it will react, So it would be better to use a 2k primer for this reason,
better still spray the whole car with a barrier coat before priming. As for how much primer
that depends on you, I must have used 3 litres of filler primer on Ratty and flatted between
coats and finally guide coated with some satin black can spray

We use aerosol primer for small spot repairs in our bodyshop then 2k primer from some company (can get name tomorrow) for the bigger repairs.High build is really just to build up the edges between filler and paint. I am going to be using 1 litre of colour base, 1/2 litre of wet on wet primer and 1/4 litre of high build. Hope this helps in some way! If not ignore me .

yes it was either 500 or 800 grit, you don't want it too fine else the colour won't key
