Hi folks,
I'm after a bit of help. I haven't got a spare gear box lying round and need to take a few measurements, in order to see if a mini gearset will fit in a reliant gear box case.
Could some one please help?
I need the length of the lay gear set and the length of the main gear set.
The distance between the two shafts and the diameter of the dogs.
From that, I could figure out if it's a go'er
It's for a 750 motor club race car my cousin has built, because if mini straight cut gears can be made to work then it will be viable in the price department!
Thanks in advance for any help,
Ali

is it a 4 synchro for a start !
Midget boxes share a number of components with the 3 synchro mini box, but as they are the same manufacturer this is hardy surprising....

Al you have some strange ideas!
what is stranger is that we've built two fiat 1100 engines under strict regs and both have made 85bhp!
Guessworks - It's a 4 synchro. and we are trying to avoid fitting a midget box because we'll have to cut an inch off the bell housing and relocate the gear change and lots of other jiggery pokery that we want to avoid. His plan is to adapt a mini dog set, or use the dogs and get some gears made to suit.
