You can wire it so that there is fuel pump power while the engine is cranking as well as while the oil pressure is OK. So you get almost instant filling of the float as soon as you crank and then the oil pressure comes up and the switch takes over. You will have to crank for a couple of seconds longer than usual though if the float has had a chance to drain. It's a lot more complicated than an innertia switch!
