The only way to do it properly is if you cut a coil out and weld the bottom on but thats a pain to do and shouldnt really do it.
And they were going round a roundabout and the spring popped out and ran someone over

Well if they advise not to cut springs im thinking it will be just as dangerous to cut them and then reweld them!

If they are welded properly its better but still not great

It just failed its MOT so now selling it because i cant afford to fix it lol
Just ordered a Mazda 2 TS 1.3
Hopefully get it next week
Cant wait

Just ordered a Mazda 2 TS 1.3

I personally think welding them back up is just as dangerous if not more dangerous then cutting them..

gutted it failed mate would have been nice, glad you got a new car lined up though :thumbsup:

I think u should roller paint it black cut the srpings so she sits 2inches off the floor and cut the back box back peice out then drill holes in the air box.


We did it to me mates metro was funny as (mind u got condemed by the plod after 3 days lol)

How is it that you cant afford to fix that yet you've just got yourself something a whole lot more modern which i would assume would be more to buy and even more to insure.

Edit: a quick search on ebay is turning out prices of in the 8-9k reigon. How is 8 or 9k cheaper than what it would cost to fix that...

Would still be more than it would cost to fix that micra :)

yes a micra thread!
Had a 1987 GLX, the snow killed it off, cam belt snapped,at the best it was just a new belt et al. , at the worst new piston and valves! so i just scrapped her! pretty sweet cars they will NOT corner well, permanent squeal. but they are indestructible..crashed mine into a crate of wood, and it was fine..just got a bumper from a scrappy and jobs a goodun!
