hi.

i put a new front screen in today with new rubber. This may sound dumb, but how do i use this minspares tool

http://www.minispare....aspx?pid=37420

should i be pulling it towards me, pushing it away, what bit goes in to groove, it seems way to wide to get the hole thing into the gap.

ive gone through a few posts, but cant seem to find, someone saying how to use it.

i have plenty of ky jelly for lube :)

Slide the fillet strip through the hole in the tool.
Start the strip going by pushing an inch or so into the seal.
You want to tilt the tool backwards whilst pushing forewards So that you are pushing the tool along the length of the sealing strip.
As you push foreward follow the tool with you free hand to ensure the strip goes into the gap as it opens up.

I use 'Fairy Liquid' to lubricate the fitting rather than WD40.

Rather than WD-40 or dish detergent, I have taken to using "personal lubricant" as you will find in the family planning department of your pharmacy. It is water soluble, compatible with rubber, and a better lubricant than either soap or spray oil. It's also fun explaining to your neighbors what you are doing.

More than likely it'll smell like the inside of a 'knoking shop'. Not that I would know what that might smell like!

If you have any trouble getting the windscreen clean after fitting, i find using an old kipper as a sponge works well!
