the car doing the towing looks in about as good nick as the thing on the trailer!
looks like a quality project in the offing, good luck with it (and the mini too )

Poor 91 Ford Festiva needs a new front inner bumper as it is bent from a front tap... but not much in the way of rust and runs quite well, drives straight as an arrow, even at 202,000 miles. This was a much shorter trip then my trip of near 3k miles to get my van in the same way 6 months ago lol. I really can't wait to put one of these mazda engines from the ford into one of my minis.

Used the racer for work for a couple of days  It's been criminally under used this year, especially given that it's the first time it's been 'on the button' for years! Took a bit of getting used to again after using the bog stock Cooper as the handling and brakes are somewhat different, but worth it, if only for the absolutely perfect what the hell!! look I got from a woman driving thru town

Oil and filter change (filter took ages to come off - turn it the right (wrong) way next time!!)

Replaced the washer on the sump plug (1 of 3 leaks solved)

Replaced the gear linkage gaiter (2 of 3 leaks solved)

Failed at putting a new seal around the inner CV joint. (3 of 3 leaks found, not resolved), looks like after a trip away it'll be new CV joint - definitely a new gaiter at least.

Oh and discovered maybe a sneaky 4 of 3 ( ;D ) oil leaks - think I need to replace the rocker cover gasket too. Not critical just now.

Haynes restoration manual arrived so looked at the shell again and decide "nope, next week after camping it is."

Busy busy, need to get this squared away so I can drive down Cornwall!

All in the name of fun.

I appear to have discovered fumes coming from the underside of one of the manifold branches.

Looks like it will be another trip (online) to minispares.
