Been attacking the rusty bits I can't normally get at while the engine is out, stripped and primered various bits and renewed some of the rusty nuts and bolts :errr:

Took a sickie yestaday and today. Yestaday I gave the mini a major valet service inside and out (New black carpet even Looks new now lol), got rid of play in the Lh lower ball joint (Took all shims out and it's sweet). And today i pulled the seized 998 engine and gearbox outta my red mini and removed gearbox from block and am now tossing up weather or not to rebuild it before I put it in the daily driver... Decisions, decisions...

I went inside my driver's side door and tightened the exterior door handle (It was a tad loose, annoying me greatly).

Tomorrow's job: Fixing my choke cable so that it (hopefully) sticks/catches and I don't have to hold it for ages

Discovered it doesn't leak as much as I thought :xxx: I sold my daily Mondeo Si in a bit of a hurry (customer needed a car to drive to Ireland the next day!) and haven't been able to tax the new'un, so the Cooper has been taking the strain instead. On a week when it has rained Biblically
Quite suprised to find my sunroof repair seems to be holding out and only a small dribble from the door seal when parked tho it creeps thru the 'screen rubber a little when driving.
Also found the new front cones have settled rather close to the (poly) bumpstops (I had to wind the Hi-los' all the way down to get it anywhere near level when I fitted them!) possibly explaing why the ride has gone a touch hard again. Some adjustment required over the weekend I reckon.

Fitted my wellers to the rear, and tried the front, but alas they fail on the brake caliper.

I love the way it looks on the black wellers though! (shame the sun was too bright to get a good pic)
