I had the issue with a very very tight sump plug, and filter, managed to bend a draper filter wrench :/

Funfunfun

Just to check I wasn't being stupid, what way was un-doing it? pulling towards you if at the front of the car? or pushing down to the ground towards the back...

Pull towards you

Just be careful you dont slip off the sump plug whilst pulling on it, the front valance is very sharp!! My wrist is still healing from changing the oil last week :)

Thanks, i love the colour, apparently its BL astral blue 140 (this is what i painted the engine bay, front valance and bottom of the wings with) but its not an exact match to the body... i think its a custom darker shade of BL's denim blue.

edit - if you look at the flat face on the front of the wings you can see the mismatch clearly :/

Today I had to pull out the radiator out plus all the other bits round it. The reason? See below...

NEVER leave a roll of masking tape sat on top of your rocker cover, forget about it and then do 70 mph on a motorway....because this will happen! Yes a very dead fan and a very hot engine.

Took the opportunity to launch the cheap chinese rad and its ropey rad-cap. Have a nice new Mini Spares 4 Core rad with fan switch to put on tomorrow (once the laquer has hardened on all the bits I have to paint again!)

Took the heater out, rounded off a couple of bulkhead blank plate screws, fekit. Looked at the stat bolts that still aren't budging, realised the bolt remover tool needed a larger socket set, which I didn't have on me. So took off alternator, water pump and heater switch thingy. To make myself happier spent a load of money at minispares and dsnclassics. Mmmm alloy billet stuff!!

Managed to get my sump nut off... I realised it had moved when my thumb smashed the front valance... and yes, I agree with the person who told me on here who said the valance is sharp :(

Changed the oil, seems happier :errr:
