Started to prep the car for paint and discovered that a hate prep work with a passion.

Much prefer welding and fabrication.

cleaned up the radius arms prior to fitting new bush kit, had a chat with my boss who said i should really de-seam it (in school time) so i made up some plates & tacked them in to stiffen the rear end. will start cutting the seams & welding today!(probably)

seam welded the stiffening plates into the c pillars, then started the cut & grind on the O/S/R seam. what a bastard! metal is so thin in places i just kept blowing holes in it, even on the lowest setting. just as well i seam welded the plates on the inner boot. i'm probably going to lead lode it rather than use bodyfiller.

Got pestered by an old woman whilst parked in Morrisons, telling me all about her Minis back in the day

I was getting concerned though, as she was dressed in a sailor style suit, wouldn't stop talking, and had a bottle of medicine in her hand! LOL

Funfunfun

Just to check I wasn't being stupid, what way was un-doing it? pulling towards you if at the front of the car? or pushing down to the ground towards the back...

I attacked mine with a grease gun, washed it and gave the interior a clean but it defo needs an interior, Oh I welded a small plate in the N/S bin just about the subframe mounting.
