Refitted the 3 clock dash with a new pcb from eBay for the left indicator bulb which needed moving over when going from 2 clock to 3 clock.

Fitted a new washer bottle kit as the original washer jet motor was knackered.

Replaced both the hazard and indicator relays with the newer type - much better.

I'd also fitted a fuel filter a few weeks ago after the car lost power on the motorway - I wasn't happy with the fuel line lying so close to the centre branch so I've used a metal cv boot clip to hang it loosely to the speedo cable by the fastener into the bulkhead. Less chance of going up in flames.

Finally, after thinking about the stereo options and initially buying a cheap bluetooth pcb adapter, I opted for a Sonos Roam which is so much easier and no wiring involved.

Adjusted the warm idle down from about 1050/1100 to about 800 after putting it off for years... what a difference!  Car drives much more smoothly when you're off the throttle - if you've been putting something silly like this off, just do it!  I didn't realise it was so easy either.  Loved bombing around in the sunshine this evening (which has been rarely seen in the West of Scotland this summer).

Also took my newly acquired Mistral Mod 5x12 wheels to a wheel place to get refurbished in original John Cooper Garages white- just need to figure out the right nuts & locking nuts to get.

And also looked at the flat red paint and wondered what to do about it, it looked great just 3 weeks ago after a polish.

Finally put my steering wheel on straight nearly 5 years after putting it on

And I've reluctantly agreed to show my car at the local summer show on August bank holiday Monday so thought I'd better clean it, first wash since January

I'd better give it a polish as well

In the unending quest to rid the GT of its annoying misfire I fitted new plugs, cap, arm and some powerspark leads today. Pleased to say it's 95% there. I think cleaning the k+n filter might get it there

Fitted my restored 'Mistral Mod' alloys + new tyres and took it for a wee road test.  Really liking the way they fit in the arches compared to the Rover ones.  Ride height slightly too high in the photos after being jacked up.

They look fantastic! A great find. Would love a set of those for my 1990 Cooper Conversion.

Made up an “over-shelf” from MDF and acoustic foam to sit over the existing shelf and hide the Pioneer speakers …
