Fitted new 7.5 discs and pads due to having a warped disc. Went for the more expensive MiniSpares discs in the hope they'll stay true.

And I’m pretty sure I know and use the garage that looked after it for the previous owner. Very annoying, a professional mechanic should know better.

Refitted a load more shiny bits, I daren’t use anything that’s not been fettled, painted or polished, sometimes all three!
Well that’s pretty.

Last night was prom for my eldest daughter, so I chauffeured her to the venue in the Mini.
We got a lot of attention!
Tonight I checked over the recently retightened thermostat housing bolts & noticed a little coolant weeping from the tops.
Removed the bolts & applied PTFE thread tape to see if that cures it.

Removed the original electric fan that is mounted in the inner wing - It’s never worked since i got the car.
Trial fitted the new Revotec electric fan ready for a new temperature controller.

decided to replace the rod change oil seal as it seems to be leaking more oil than i can afford ! didn't have much trouble removing the rearmost roll pin because some donut had used a split pin instead !!!! all done properly now along with a new exhaust and a oil and filter change, now hoping for a week or so of good weather to clean and use the car.

top tip is to take the bottom hose off at the water pump end and remove the radiator and hose as one unitOld thermostat was completely jammed shut so no wonder I was seeing high coolant temperatures!
Replaced the thermostat & replaced the coolant while I was at it (forgotten what pain that bottom hose clamp was to get to!)
Ran the engine up to temperature & checked for leaks whilst it was running.
All good!

Took advantage of the good weather and out the garage it goes. Quick touch-up of underseal, then stretched its legs on a quick run. The mini ran faultlessly.
