Then I dropped the oil, only to find my chain type oil filter tool wasn't up to its job. Got a different one coming tomorrow, was tempted to go gorilla and whack a screwdriver through it

Replaced the petrol tank, due to rust inside it due to condensation.
I put a new tank in mine, so thought I'd try this to prevent it corroding again

Only time will tell if it actually works

Trying to find an exhaust manifold to down pipe clamp that fits.
Going to get the cast version later today, hopely its a bit taller so as to properly catch both the manifold and downpipe flange.

I had the same problem. What I found was that there was an extra collar of metal around the end of the exhaust pipe creating a double thickness flange. Removing this then meant that I had a perfect fit with either type of clamp.

So after replacing the defective CV boots, CV joints, brake discs and changing the oil and filter I took it out for a run and all seemed fine until the right hand rear indicator stopped working, on investgation the lampholder had corroded, luckily I had kept the old lamp assembly as the new one is less than 2 years old, I then noticed that my brake lights were not working, it turns out that the brake light switch needs replacing, so that's my next task..

After finally getting the carpets in I fitted the rear speaker panel with some 6x9s - it's a tight squeeze as the Optimise carpets have a thick foam backing but just about managed to get them all in and secure.

Checked the piece of paper underneath mini in my garage after work. Annoyingly, still weeping oil from gearbox! It had new oil seals when work was done last week with my mini guy, while in for welding, and will now need to go back. Maybe a bad batch of seals from the shelf, or they didn't put them on properly? Hummm.... All under warranty, though.
wouldn't be a real mini if it didn't leak some oil !!!!

Ordered new part from Mini Spares.
In my spares box, I have a new rack and new wheelboxes, but the existing ones look fine so I'm thinking I'll just leave alone...
