Fitted a new centre exhaust section with a silencer (single back box only was awful on the motorway) and took it for its last drive of the year. Looking forward to getting it back on the rolling road and back out next year!

Fitted 2 new rear quarter window seals.

Cleaned the wheel arches and gave them a coat of Bilt Hamber UB.

Started to design a PCB to hold relays and fuses for a home-made harness.

Refitted the dashboard after spraying the grey plastic black and wrapping the top and bottom pads in black leather.

I also removed a lot of crappy wiring bodges from its past life, the broken speakers, and the crappy radio that was under the passenger side dash.

I'm very pleased with the result, but boy, what an absolute pig of a job putting it all back together was!

Adjusted the tappets then played around with the advance curve map on my ignition module and after some trial and error it now pulls like a train from idle all the way up the rev range.
May treat it to a wash tomorrow.

Removed the front pilot & indicator lenses on my new to me Clubman and flooded the garage - they were both full of lots of water yet still working!!  Still trying to work out how to remove the indicator bulbs which seem corroded in place!

Most chuffed about these perspex sun visors:

How did you fit these? I have a set and they dont seem to align with my Innnocenti mini, and I dont have another mini for reference.

Also, I plan on going to Osaka in a few weeks, worth going by and checking it out?

Mine were a simple like for like replacement with the Rover originals. I guess Innocenti used a locally made sun visor with slightly different spacing.
If you're in Osaka then it's worth going along to Mini Delta if there's definitely stuff you want from their online shop, https://www.mini-delta.co.jp/lp/ because you will save considerably on shipping costs. Save some suitcase space :-D

There is supposed to be a cafe there but it was closed when I went, possibly permanently so. There was no opportunity to browse, I just had a list of saved pages from their site that I showed them and someone fetched them from their big warehouse.

I wasn't all that impressed by Osaka. It's just a big city full of tourist traps and marauding drinkers. Kyoto was far nicer, as was Tokyo.

Get a mobile data plan for Japan (or buy a data SIM there) because you are going to need Google Translate a lot. You can download the Japanese language in advance.

I'm just back from an Italian driving tour (not in the Mini though) and took a couple of snaps of familiar looking places in Turin:

I can't quite see how this weir leads directly to the sewer in Coventry though!

I picked mine up from Crafted Classics in Suffolk and drove it home to Oxfordshire.  A very pleasant and fault-free 190+ miles.

Matching collar and cuffs.

Changed the servo on my girlfriend's MPI.
Not as difficult as expected...
Next: new discs and pads followed by a good bleeding. 😅
