Passenger door fixed. However, the bloody strimmer in the garage fell on the mini wing and gave it a good ol' whack! Had to book it in with our repair/repray guy for October!
Dropped the mini of to our repair/resprayer guy for the wing dent to be sorted after.

Had a set of Brockley tyres fitted, hope they perform as good as they look.

Washed & detailed the paintwork.
Went for a short drive in the sunshine ☀️
Parked up in the garage and admired the handiwork before putting on the car cover for hibernation!

Then after I got in & had the essential cup of tea after a nice day with the car, gave her a quick wipe over, cleaned out the arches & sills

Then she was tucked away under her cover until the next nice day I'm off, starting to think about the silly minor jobs to be done over the colder months ready for next show season as I'm planning on going to Himley Hall 2024 which will be the furthest I've been in the Mini but I'll be visiting relatives in the north so an excuse to take the Mini away for 2 weeks 😁 jobs include
1) replace slightly damaged diff side cover as this is where the oil leak is coming from
2) replace tear drops as they haven't completely gone but they're just starting to go
3) replace radiator as the fins are looking a bit corroded, this is probably me being fussy more than anything 😂
4) replace dampers as she seems to drift slightly round bends when being driven in a spirited way😂 although not terrible, checked over everything else & all seems fine so with the mileage etc I'm assuming the dampers are most probably the original ones from 1980 & are slightly not with it anymore😂 so will change all 4 for NOS Boge ones I have in my stock.
5) minor touch ups on the bottom edge of the front panel & give the Rostyle's a quick refresh
So just silly things really with the oil leak being the worst thing, happy days😁

Today I removed the old plastic winged bonnet badge, and replaced it with a rather nice enamel and metal one from a Mini 40.
I've always thought Minis look best with round badges and the old Austin ones are no longer available. This was the closest. The car would originally have had the Rover style shield which is long gone.
Old:
New:
I also fitted a really nice quality leather handbrake and gearshift gaiter that I got from JF Customs on eBay. Really nice fit, reasonable price and they look great.

Decided to replace the lower arm bushes today on the S, things didn’t start to well as I got a phone call from the tracker company checking if the car had been stolen as I had jacked up the car without the ignition on setting off the signal, then noticed that the bump stop rubbers need replacing so will have to finish the job once I get my minispares delivery

Today I fitted my new Nardi steering wheel to the car. It's 39mm which is slightly bigger than the Austin Rover one. It should make low speed steering easier, as well as looking fantastic.

I rather spoiled today's progress by stripping the dash apart.
All will be revealed soon.

Electrical work!!!
No Hazards, inline fuse blows as soon as its pushed in.
No indicators ??
No side lights??
Read forum for 2 hours, poured over manual and wiring diagram.
No interior light fitted, left wired behind headlining. Peeled back head lining fed wires through, installed interior light.
No hazards.
Stripped out any changes over last 2 weeks.
Happy ending, all working. Until I turned off interior light, blew the fuse....
