Put the seal on between the air filter housing & the carb elbow as it was missing, replaced the choke cable with a proper new old stock genuine BL one as the rubbish pattern one wasn't working properly

Machined down a set of big bore exhaust valves to fit a small bore head, machined a throttle spindle for a SU, spent 2hrs trying to make a choke conversion fit and work and turned up one of Spiders 20mm conversion sump bolts.

Top end strip and timing cover off the Mrs Mini to check the cam timing, once parts bought, change the crank oil seal and fit an uprated head plus general service

Pulled it out the garage and gave it its first wash of the year. Couldn’t get the immobiliser off to actually start it so I’m hoping some fresh batteries in the fob will get it going tomorrow!

Jacked car up, found the hi lo nuts seized. Squirted them with oil to soak for another time. Adjusted the brakes while there and adjusted hand brake cable

Then removed door card to sort out door lock, found a c clip had come off, found the clip with a magnet, only for it to ping off while trying to re fit it and it disappear forever. Starting to hate the GT now. Another order from minispares

Quick edit, just been for a spin and we are friends again

Fitted second kad rear radius arm adjuster. Just need to set up the rear toe and camber and hope that solves my soiled pants issue

After doing a few little jobs in the week I drove it over to a mates house as it was a nice day, it now has a 13 inch Momo competition steering wheel fitted replacing the 15 inch original one, a set of alloy pedals & also a new set of proper number plates replacing those not so nice plastic ones Attached File  IMG_20230219_160558_647~2.jpg   68.07K   5 downloadsAttached File  IMG_20230219_160608_012~2.jpg   72.75K   5 downloads

When it warms up a bit we're thinking if changing the head gasket as it's probably original & looking a bit thin so while the head is off I'll have it converted to unleaded & also going to fit a set of Cooper S valve springs

If the head gasket isn't leaking why risk changing it? Yes an upgraded head might be nice but you can use a lead replacement solution

Have been great to deal with from this side of the world. Good price point, reasonable freight price. Answered all my questions and put me at ease with the purchase.
Also been around for ages which tells me the know their stuff. 👍🏻
